As children become more mobile, their curiosity and thirst for discovery grow. This also increases the risk of accidents. About 60 percent of accidents involving children occur in their own homes or in the home environment. Serious accidents include falls, burns, scalds, poisoning, drowning, and suffocation.

To recognize hidden dangers, you should see the apartment through the eyes of your children: A shelf quickly becomes a climbing tower, a carpet a tripping hazard and the contents of the trash can become play material.
