Vacation in the family resort

A vacation allows you to get away from everyday routines and obligations and experience new things with the whole family. Especially for parents and children, such time off and shared experiences are particularly important.
But it is not easy for all families to finance a vacation. The non-profit family holiday centers in North Rhine-Westphalia and other federal states have many attractive destinations in their program that take into account the needs and possibilities of families.

Numerous federal states subsidize family recreation measures from their state. North Rhine-Westphalia also promotes family vacations in family vacation centers. However, families can also apply independently to one of the facilities nationwide.

In the houses families can refuel strength and recover completely after own needs. The family recreation offers meeting opportunities with other families, exchange and variety at the same time. All houses convince by their child and family-friendly atmosphere in quiet location.

The state promotes family vacations for families from North Rhine-Westphalia with low incomes, especially single parents and families with many children, as well as families with children in need of care or at least one family member with a disability, regardless of income.

Family leave funding for low-income families is based on the family income limit under Section 53 of the Tax Code. Entitled are i.d.R. families, which are in the achievement purchase, entitled to participate or in the housing subsidy purchase, families, which had to accept income losses due to short-time work and families, in which with a family member a heavy handicap of at least 50% is present. The responsible travel service of the Diakonie Ruhr-Hellweg e. V. is very happy to assist in determining or calculating whether funding is possible.

Funded is a family vacation with three to seven overnight stays in a family vacation center in North Rhine-Westphalia or nationwide with full board and various family-friendly offers for the participating families. The families participated with an own contribution at a value of 50 euro per adult person and 25 euro per child. Below a certain income threshold, the personal contribution is waived. The pocket money required locally carries the families themselves.
