Aim of the game:

The aim of forest bingo is to be the first or a group of children to fill the egg carton with the depicted things and objects from nature.

Material required:

  • Egg carton
  • Bingo templates with pictures of natural features and objects that can be found in the forest or in nature
  • For children who can already read, small pieces of paper with a description are also suitable.
  • Optional: Nature guides or identification books to help children recognize the features they are looking for

Gameplay:

  1. Preparation: Each child or group receives an egg carton with the forest bingo templates.
  2. The children begin to explore nature and find the objects they are looking for. As soon as a child discovers an object they are looking for, they place it in the egg carton.
  3. The first one to find everything shouts BINGO. Alternatively, the game can also end when all children have completely filled their egg cartons.

Variants and tips:

  • You can create different bingo cards with different characteristics to create variety:
  • "Doesn't belong in nature"
  • "Has the color of love"
  • "Smells nice"
  • "Feels slippery"
  • "Feels cold, warm, rough, soft, ..."
  • "Floats in water"
  • Encourage nature exploration and knowledge about nature and the environment by stimulating curiosity about the characteristics you find.

Print out the forest bingo template, cut it out and stick it in the lid of an empty egg carton
