What is home for me? How special is the region we live in? How mysterious is the forest, how diverse is the wildlife? What is there to discover locally and in the neighborhood? The Heimat-Box playfully opens up a view of your own homeland. The instructions for activities with children from kindergarten age to adolescence are available to download free of charge.

Eyes and ears open: Our homeland offers a wealth of experiences and personal adventures for young explorers. The search for traces can start right on your doorstep and doesn't cost much. The Heimat-Box suggests exciting ways to go in this direction.

The special thing about the Heimat-Box: The box was created by Heimat experts from the various regions of our country together with children and young people for children and young people.

In this way, the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia supports families, associations, day-care centers and schools in teaching children and young people about the diversity of our homeland in North Rhine-Westphalia through exciting activities.

Many things can be implemented digitally. There are also numerous suggestions for themed meetings, theme days and larger projects.

Teachers and educational professionals will also find didactic and methodological support as well as worksheets and method sheets for use in childcare and schools. The topic cards provide sound background information and specific instructions for activities with children from kindergarten to adolescence.
