Checklist: Equipment for the baby room

Furnishing the baby room made easy

The most important basics for the baby room

Whether you set up a separate baby room right from the start depends on your needs and the space available. A separate room is not absolutely necessary - many babies initially sleep in their parents' bedroom. Changing or breastfeeding facilities can also be flexibly integrated into other living areas. The important thing is that you create an environment in which you and your baby feel comfortable and which is practical for your everyday life.

So that you can prepare for your baby in the best possible way, it makes sense to have well thought-out equipment. It should be free of harmful substances, child-friendly and practical. Not everything has to be bought new - this saves money and is good for the environment. Many baby items are only needed for a short time, so it is worth buying them second-hand or borrowing them. Children's furniture that grows with the child or can be converted after the infant phase, for example, can be used for longer.

This checklist of the most important items for a baby's room will help you not to forget anything. This list can be adapted depending on your personal preferences and available space.
