Early aids

An application is not required to receive early intervention services.

Responsible for the achievements are the youth welfare offices of the districts and independent cities as well as free carriers.

Early aids are free offers for parents and children from the beginning of pregnancy and in the first years of life with a focus on the age group of 0 to 3-year-olds.

These offers, which are aimed at all (expectant) parents with their children and especially also at families in stressful situations, serve to provide early support. They aim to improve development opportunities for children and parents at an early stage and in a sustainable manner, and to enable children to grow up healthily and secure their rights to protection, support and participation.

In addition to everyday practical support, early assistance makes a particular contribution to promoting the relationship and parenting skills of mothers and fathers.
The use of the offers takes place without high bureaucratic expenditure and is always confidentially treated.

The offers of early help differ depending on the place of residence and consist of information, advice and concrete help.

Examples of support services can be the accompaniment of a family midwife or family health and pediatric nurse (FGKiKP), volunteer family mentors, parent meetings and parenting classes, welcome visits after the birth of a child, counseling in family and educational counseling centers, open office hours, pregnancy counseling centers or crying ambulances.

You can request the offers of early help when you are pregnant and after the birth of your child until the age of 3.

The processing time may vary due to regional differences. However, due to the often acute needs, offers become available quickly.
